Annie is beloved by her colleagues and supervisors at a premiere accounting firm in the American South. Her positive attitude lends well to her continued success, but she can get stuck in her ways and struggles to break habits.

Annie (called Anyika by her family members) is Gullah Geechee and lived on a small island off the coast of Georgia during her childhood. Even after moving to Savannah for higher education and employment, she still has close ties with her extended family and community.
